This is my second and last guest designer project for The Greeting Farm so I wanted to share a special card that I made for my 23 year old nephew who is living and working in NYC.  As a young, professional man, the world is wide open to him, and I wanted to send him this card to remind him to enjoy the wonderful summertime life in the City (not just work and study – which is his super serious nature). I’m sure he could be like Prince Charming in Cinderella, with his pick of princesses if he chose to be enchanting (of which I know he’s capable)! LOL 🙂
To make this 3D accordion fold card, I used the Sizzix Accordion Flip 3D Album Die to create the structure with various 6 x 6 papers from the following paper collections: Pebbles “Sunny Side,” American Crafts “Spring,” and Doodlebug Designs “Lovebirds”.
I used the Diemond Dies Daisy Flowers Die Set to die cut lots of flower power daisies using scraps of patterned papers to match the paper pieced little princesses’ dresses. My readers can get 10% off and free worldwide shipping on all orders of $35 or more at Diemond Dies by using the coupon code: thankskristina
Everything I die cut out, I also inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass or Worn Lipstick. I used a Spellbinder’s Tool ‘n’ One to emboss some of the daisy flowers to add some depth and dimension to the flowers. To create The Dating Game logo and the bachelorette signs in the colors I wanted, I used a free software program called www.paint.net and a free font called Bellbottom.Laser and printed them from my computer.
The following are the Copic colors I used to color each of The Greeting Farm images:
Collin from Ever After Stamp Set: Hair: C6, 7 and 9 with B01; Top: BG10; Pants: BG10 and B95; Belt and Boots: C6, 7 and 9
Princess Anya 2 (brunette): E23, 57, 29, and 79
Princess Anya 3 (blonde): Y21, E31, E33
Princess Anya 4 (auburn): YR15, E15, E18, E23, and Y21
All the skin was colored using varying amounts of: E000, 00, 21, 11 and R20; and all of the shading on the paper pieced clothing was done using C1 and C3.
To add a little sparkle to the girls’ crowns (because we can never have too much bling, right?), I used Stickles in Champagne, Neon Flamingo, Cranberry and Ice Blue. Â I also added rhinestone gems in pink, clear, and ruby for the girls’ earrings.
The following is a process video sharing the paper piecing process plus the GIVEAWAY details:
