I wanted to make an elegant (aka neutral colored) thank you note cards giftĀ set (and also come up with a sketch for a card that could be mass produced–yes, I’m starting to feel the pressure of the holiday season already) forĀ my craftyĀ friend Daphne (YT: DDspaperworks).
I can’t remember where I first saw this, butĀ I have been wanting to create a card with aĀ patterned background with a smaller vellum layer that is stamped with a sentiment over top. Ā I love the look of the large bright patterned background partly muted by the smaller vellum layer. Ā I could have stamped out a colorful background (which I still may do in a gift set for my mother), but I had some gorgeous gold foil peacock feather patterned card stock that I had been hoarding that I thought would be perfect for this project.
For the embossing on vellum, I used clear Recollections embossing powder and Momento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink to stamp three thank you/thinking of you sentiments from the C.C. Designs “Thanks a Bunch” stamp set. Ā To adhere the vellum to the card front, I usedĀ Designer Art Glitter Glue that dries clear. Ā As a finishing touch and a teeny pop of color, I also glued on a smattering of gold sequins and small red metallic confetti hearts.
This fantastic and super versatile C.C. Designs Thanks a Bunch stamp set was part of my design team package from HappyCreating, and through the month of November 2015, my readers can get 20% off their entire order by using the coupon code: TURKEY
