Summertime CAS Card with Snow-Tex Faux Sand | CraftyPaws

Picture 470This Whimsy Stamp called Skippy and Bobbin was the first image stamp I ever purchased. I just fell in love with the sweet girl and her adorable little pup. I stamped them out on water color paper and used the following Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color them up: Skin: Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar; Outfit: Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade; Hair: Vintage Photo Puppy: Pumice Stone and Black Soot; and Puppy’s Collar: Festive Berries.

I fussy cut Skippy and Bobbin out and glued them onto a sky patterned paper. As you may have noticed, I’ve been using that paper on the last several of my cards–a natural result of my obsession with using up scraps. 🙂

Then to add a little texture and a bit of a twist, I mixed up some faux sand.  I tinted some Snow-Tex (yes, you got that right–Snow-Tex for a summer project!) with ink from my Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Markers. It was easy to spread out with an old paint brush, and it dried perfectly in about 3 hours.

On the inside, I just printed out a sweet sentiment that I found on Pinterest. I chose the colors for the sentiment to reflect the sand and sky colors on the front of the card.

The following is a video share of the card:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
