Summertime Birthday Card | CraftyPaws

For this card, I used a Little Miss Muffet stamp called “Ice Cream Bench”. I think the little kids enjoying their ice creams is just so cute. Did you notice how their free hands seem to be overlapping, like they’re holding hands?  How sweet is that?!
I colored them up with Sakura Gelly Roll pens, Copic markers and Tim Holtz Distress Markers. The following are the colors I used. For the boy: Pants: Distress Marker faded jeans; T-Shirt: Distress Markers spiced marmalade and ripe persimmon; Long sleeve shirt Copic W1 and B05; Skin: Distress Marker tattered rose (and then I forgot and went over the top with Copic E00 and E11 (yikes!) but he turned out ok, just a little blotchy (lesson learned); Hair: C1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and B00; and Shoes: E55, E57 and W1 (for the rubber part).  For the little girl: Shirt: B00 and 02; Skirt: B02 and 05; Hearts on shirt and bow: pink metallic Gelly Roll Pen; Skin: E000, 00, 11; Blush: R20; Shoes: R20 and R32, and W1; Socks: W1; and Hair: E55, 57, 59.  The grass at the bottom was colored with YG95, G24, and G29.  The bench was colored with E79, 74 and 55.  The nails on the bench were colored with silver metallic Gelly Roll pen.  Finally, I also added Glossy Accents to their eyes and added Cotton Candy pink Stickles tPicture 463o the girl’s ice cream bar.  Whew! That’s a lot of different colors! Please bear with me as I experiment and play with my new markers. LOL

To add some additional texture and interest, I embossed an extra piece of white card stock (which I lightly daubed with three Tsukineko artnic inks: baby blue, seafoam and petal pink) with an old Cuttlebug swirly frame embossing folder.  Then using old school Creative Memories oval cutter, I cut out the center so I could pop through the stamped image of the kids, which I also adhered with foam adhesive to add dimension. The background behind the kids is a little scrap of sky patterned paper.

For the inside, I kept it simple. I printed out the sentiment on regular copy paper and trimmed the edges with some fun cheerful washi.

The following is a video share:

This card is also being entered into:
The Raisinboat Summertime Challenge, the Not2ShabbyShop July Challenge, and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Emboss It Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! WOOF
