Oh I love Sweet Pea Stamps.  There is something artistic and deliciously Steampunk about so many of them. This “Steam Punk Doll” by Meredith Dillman is one of my favorites because I have a whole story about her imagined in my head.  She is a fairy princess and she is looking onto the desolate desert landscape that was once a glorious empire. The ruins in the background show the effects of the ravages of time….  LOL  Ok, back to the crafting. 🙂

20150624_192633I stamped her out on 140 lb Strathmore water color paper and colored her up using my Tim Holtz Distress Markers (along with a black Copic Multiliner (o.3) to clean up the edges, a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen for the highlights, and Glossy Accents to add shine to her eyes, jewels, wings and armor):

20150624_192550Hair: Black Soot, Tea Dye
Skin and blush: Tattered Rose with Spun Sugar
Puff sleeve shirt: Black Soot and Picket Fence with Tea Dye and Broken China
Bodice: Black Soot and Walnut Stain
Corset, headband, and trims: Tea Dye and Antique Photo
Red hair bow: Fired Brick
Wings: Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Fired Brick–all watered down
Jewels: Broken China
Background buildings: Milled Lavendar
Desert sky color: Antique Linen

I popped up the image on foam adhesive and then matted with scraps of paper from my stash (most of it is from the My Mind’s Eye Mischievous Collection), both inside and out. The die cut gears are made using Diemond Dies Steampunk Gears Die Set and I think add the perfect Steampunky touch (and yet still keeps this card thin and light enough to mail — this is going to a friend in Canada). I added a pocket on the back of the card to include my crafty info (YT name, addie, favorite colors, DOB, etc.), which my friend had requested.

The following is a video share of this card:

This card is being entered into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day! WOOF
