This is the first hat I’ve ever made, and boy was it ever a hoot! To enter the challenge that Kerry (YT: kerryluvcat) has going on through St. Patrick’s Day, I threw caution to the wind and just started pulling out everything I had that was green, which wasn’t much. The sample Valentines hat that I had from a Canadian friend, Shiela (YT: Shiela McNabb), which she had made for my “Love the Earth Upcycling Challenge,” served as a great template.
With felt shamrocks from Brittany Pochick, beautiful patterned paper from Lisa (YT: Maggie2005cupcake), green Stickles from Jenn (YT: ScrapbenaCreations), and flowers from Marla (YT: Marla H) and Bev (NewCrafterBev), I was ready. Add from my stash some green cardstock, hot glue, tape runner adhesive, some metallic green Sakura Gelly Roll pens, and a couple Martha Stewart hydrangea punches, and I was unstoppable.
The piece de resistance? Some goofy feather and glitter ball sprays I had picked up at Michaels in an post-Halloween clearance sale. I was so happy I had finally found a project for those sprays; they had been mocking me from my pens and scissors holder for months now: “Why did you buy us? You’ll never use us. A sale item is not cheap if you don’t use it.”
This is the Youtube post where I share the details (and add this picture of Bandito wearing a little teeny tiny St. Patrick’s Day bowler hat, which was also from Brittany):
Thanks for stopping by! Subscribe if you wish, and have a great day! WOOF
Oh my goodness, I am laughing so hard over the hats the kids are wearing! Oh cute hats you made, but look at Biscuit and Bandito’s expressions, LOL they are probably thinking “oh my, will she feed us green eggs too?” I LOVE this, oh my it makes me so happy. take care~
Thanks. Yes, they were so over me. I kept having to take breaks and catch them to try to get a non-blurry shot. Biscuit looks like the hat is melting her. lol xoxo, Kristina

Thank you Bobbi Ann! I’d never made anything like that hat before, but it was a super fun project. I really like how it turned out, although I think Biscuit was not amused. LOL Warm hugs, Kristina
