I wanted to make a special surprise (belated Easter) project for a crafty friend and her daughter who love pink and have been super sweet and loyal subscribers to my blog and YT channel for several years.
I started with a chipboard oval wreath form that I covered in laces, pink fuzzy trims, clear rhinestone gems, fancy pearl buttons, floral appliques with seed pearls, acrylic pearlescent leaves, and fabric flowers. I made a loop hanger from ribbons and laces and tied a triple loop bow with wired pastel plaid ribbon at the top.
I wanted a pretty in pink, springy wreath base on which I could add magical pegasus and unicorns from The Greeting Farm’s “Magical Friends,” “Your Wings,” and “Magical Day” stamps (which I’ve been wanting to ink up since I got them weeks after they were first released last year).
I stamped three of the fantastic animals and colored them up with the following Copic colors:
Pink Pegasus: W0, W1, W3, R20, Y26, Y28, E57, RV52, RV55, RV66 and R59
Teal Pony (I masked off the unicorn because I wanted to not interrupt her beautiful mane): C00, C1, C2, R20, Y26, Y28, E57, BG32, BG45, BG49 and BG78
Blue Pegasus: C00, C1, C2, R20, Y26, Y28, E57, B91, B93, B97 and B99
I then added some white dot details to give their manes and tails a more magical look with a Uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen.
Then I fussy cut them all out, using an X-acto blade to get into the nooks and crannies. I inked all the edges with a Momento Tuxedo Black Marker to give a finished look to the edges of the fussy cut images. Lastly I hot glued them all in place spaced out around the wreath.
I like how they pop from the busy shabby chic background with their bold colors but still somehow go with the soft fantasy feeling of the wreath base. I hope my crafty friend and her daughter will enjoy this wreath.
The following is a video share of the wreath along with a coloring process video on how I Copic colored up these cute magical creatures, added the white dot (pearl) details, and a little bit about the tip-to-tip coloring technique that helps stretch our marker colors (yes, unless you have the “complete collection syndrome” you really don’t need all the Copic marker colors — LOL):

You may not typically be a ‘shabby’ girl crafter but this creation is a girly girl’s dream. Great way to use hoarded(I mean saved) bits and pieces of bling and prettiness.
Have a great weekend,
