My friend Shann (YT: Shannon Pratt) is a real animal lover (like me). She is hosting an ATCĀ (Artist Trading Card, which are supposed to be little works of art measuring 2.5″ by 3.5″)Ā giveaway challenge, so I knew I wanted to make a little puppy themed ATC for her.
Recently I picked up in a destash this C.C. Designs stamp, “Puppy Kiki,” andĀ I have really been wanting to use itĀ in a project. Ā When I thought about making this ATC for Shann, it occurred to me that this could be the perfect project in which to use this stamp.
I started by creating an ATC base, using a glue stick to build up 4 layers of light weight chip board. I covered both sides with scraps of patterned paper from my scrap box and then started layering little bits of crocheted trim and lace along one side. To finish off that edge, I added a bit of some special Woof ribbon that I had been hoarding. For the “grass” on which Kiki and puppy could stand and sit, respectively, I used a little bit of green Chinese braided trim. Finally, I added a really pretty sparkly pale grey doily behind Kiki’s head to create a kind of halo behind her. Ā To me, Kiki here represents Shann and the way sheĀ so sweetly and generously cares for dogs and cats. š
I colored up Kiki and her puppy using the following Copic markers: Hair: E55, 57, and 59; Skin: E000, 00, and 11; Blush: R30; Boots: E74 and 79; Collar and bow: W1 and blender pen 0; Puppy: E25. Ā I paper pieced her dress and head band and as a finishing touch, I added little spots of Glossy Accents to her eyes and the eyes and nose of the puppy.
The following is a video share of this ATC:
