Massively Cute Monsters – Topflight Stamps DTP | CraftyPaws

I am absolutely in love with yet another Katzelkraft stamp set. This one, called Monsters is filled with six quirky monsters that all seem to have a personality. I wanted to really let the actual stamp images shine so I decided to create some CAS (clean and simple) single layered cards that would be great for boys kids of all ages!

I stamped out 3 of the monsters from the set and also created some post-it note masks of each of them. I covered up the monsters with the masks and blended on some Tim Holtz Distress Inks through a Diane Reaveley Dylusions Quotes Bubbles stencil behind them. This masking and stenciling backgrounds technique is a favorite of mine, and I love how the Claritystamp Stencil Brushes make it so easy to do smooth blending like this (no sponge or felt marks here!) for a soft ombre look. For the red monster, I used Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink; the blue monster got Dried Marigold Distress Ink; and the ladybug monster got a combination of Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar.

Then I Copic colored each monsters with the following colors:
Gold: YR21 and YR24
Red: R14, R24, and R29
Yellow: Y11, Y35 and Y38
Blue: B21, B24 and B28
Gray toes on blue monster and ground shadows: N0, N2, N3 N4 and N7

Next I was on the hunt for sentiments that I thought would compliment the monsters well. I found two from an old Inkadinkado stamp set called “Kids Quotes” that I thought went well with the red and blue monsters. The third one I made up using the Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script Stamp Set to spell “monster” and hand writing in “hugs!!!”

Disclosure: Many of the supplies I’ve used for today’s project are linked. Some may be affiliate links, which means if you make a purchase I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. I truly appreciate your support toward the costs of running this blog!
