A crafty friend, Sue (YT: slsaver) is celebrating the big 6-0! She asked folks to make her an ATC to help her celebrate so I knew I wanted to participate and make her an ATC with a little tongue and cheek humor. Luckily, I received a fun ATC kit from my friend Sheila (YT: Sheila McNabb) yesterday, that I thought would be perfect.
The kit included a sweet vintage image of a young couple who looked like they were in so much love. I cut it down in size to fit in the lower left corner and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo. I also inked up a vintage image of roses that I positioned askew on a pink card stock base (the whole thing is on a wood ATC base which adds a nice solid, substantial feeling). Ā Before I glued the paper parts to the wooden base, I also hot glued some gold and linen colored crocheted trim on both sides of the ATC to add some softness and sparkle.
For the lower right corner, I also added a rose cluster that I thought coordinated nicely with the vintage roses on the background image. Lastly, I added champagne colored bling and golden yellow Liquid Pearl dots to add more shine and sparkle and fill in some of the ATC’s background.
The following is a short video share of this ATC:
