K-9 Robot Dog – Free Digi! | CraftyPaws

I am so excited about the upcoming new season for Doctor Who that I decided to dedicate this week’s free digi to K-9, the robot dog from the tv series. I drew this digi modeled after K-9 and created this CAS card with him.

Picture 534I colored up K-9 with the following Copic colors: Eyes: R83 and 89; Body: C1, 3, 5, and 7; Antennae ears and dog tag: Y17 and C1.  I thought this pun that I found online was hysterical and decided I would have to use my grass and small Steampunk gears dies from Diemond Dies to complete the scene.  The sentiment, which I printed out using a free downloadable font called Homemade Robot Font, says: “What is small and silver and lies in the grass?  R2 Doo doo.” LOL

[DIEMOND DIES COUPON CODE: thankskristina still gets you 10% off your entire purchase (including sale items) as well as FREE worldwide shipping on orders over $35!]

I created a mask by just printing out the digi a second time on plain copy paper and fussy cutting him out. I then used washi tape to temporarily adhere the mask over the colored image so that I could use my blue and green ink daubers to color in the background. Then after layering several cardstock backgrounds and adding a little black and white twine, I added a couple of grass die cut outs and half of one of the the gears I cut out of metallic adhesive backed Shurtape (which you can buy at most hardware stores).  I cut out a couple more metallic gears to decorate the inside of the card, and I was good to go!

The following is the video share/masking process video:

This card is being entered into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Anything Goes Challenge
and the Naughty or Nice Anything Goes Challenge as a naughty entry

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day. Hope you like the free digi! WOOF
