Everybody Wants to be the Cadbury Easter Bunny | CraftyPaws

I have been wanting to use the Stampin’ Up! “Baby Bear” layering stamp set for quite some time, and I thought this silly Easter card design would be a fun way to use it.

I stamped out the bear with Stampin’ Up! water-based dye inks in Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip and then die cut the image out with the second largest of the MFT Die-namics Cross-Stitched Rectangle STAX Die Set. There is something about the cross-stitched border that I think makes the image look more cozy and homey.

Then I followed a great new MFT Sketch Challenge design and used some papers from Pebbles’ “Sunny Side” collection and Studio Calico’s “Here + There” collection. I love the deep secondary colors of these papers and I think they coordinate but are different enough so that they are distinct and add interest. I also used some additional scraps from my scrap box and created an inside liner sheet with the same cloud accent paper for the border and punched a couple of white bunnies out with an old Martha Stewart bunny punch.

To make the teddy bear into a wanna-be fantasy Easter bunny, I used fun dimensional stickers from the Jolee’s Boutique “Bunny Ears” sticker set. I printed out the sentiment, “Everybody wants to be the Cadbury Easter Bunny” (do you remember that series of commercials? — I thought they were hysterical) on my computer and just matted it with more of the raspberry colored card stock that I used to create the card base. It’s a silly little card, but I had so much fun crafting it.
