At the Scrapbook Expo I saw some cool demonstrations of inking, stamping and heat embossing on chip board pieces (I substituted wood veneer pieces since the chip board pieces I had were larger) that I knew I wanted to try at home.

20150721_093358I experimented a bit with the inking directly onto the wood pieces using Ranger Adirondack Shell Pink pigment ink and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick. I stamped music and script writing 7 Gypsies stamps over top using Tsukineko VersaFine black ink. Then I used clear and sparkle opaque bling embossing powders from Recollections to give each wooden piece a nice protective high shine gloss.

Oh what a fun mess I made! By the time I was finished, I had a fine powder over everything on my desk, but I also had some really pretty shabby chic pieces that I could assemble and combine with lace appliques, doilies, flowers, Stickles, and bling. The combinations resulted in set of bird themed shabby chic embellishments that I am sending to my friend Isha (YT: ishacraftyside) to help her celebrate reaching over 5000 YT subbies! I hope she likes them. 🙂

The following is a process video sharing how I made these embellishments:

These embellies are being entered into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful crafty day! WOOF
