I was so excited to find this letter holder at Tuesday Morning with a little nick that allowed me to get an additional 35% off, under $10! I love the black leatherette exterior and the graphic interior. I had some foam core left over from another project so I used that to create divided areas so that I could store all of my Distress Markers and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in color families and in easy reach of my craft desk.
The biggest impediment to my getting more use out of my 60 piece Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers is the tiny font and difficult-to-see true colors (you’re supposed to store them horizontally or brush nib side up but the color sample is on the bottom). So I finally bit the bullet and spent a day to label all of my markers using return address labels. Office Depot labels (Item: 940963) are equivalent to 3M labels 3200-Q and 3100-P or Avery labels 8195 or 5195. I tried to use the labels pdf offered for free by the incredibly generous Sandy Allnock, but I couldn’t get the label names to print fully on each label so I ended up organizing the colors in families that made sense to me and typing in all of the names again.  It was a bit time consuming, but once I did it, I found it to be super easy and a little zen. LOL  If you’d like my version, please email me at kristina@craftypaws.us and I’d be happy to email it to you.
The following is a quick share of my labeling and organization:
I would love to have your word document for the marker labels. Thank you!
I have emailed you the document to the email you registered with on my blog, Patti. Hope you get it and that it helps you get organized and enjoy your markers more! 🙂 Big hugs, Kristina
I would like one of your to have a copy of your word document too. Great idea Kristina!
Sincerely, Elaine Rico
Of course my sweet friend! I’m emailing it to you now. 🙂 Big hugs and happy crafting! xoxo, Kristina
I was going to recommend Sandy to you, but as I read I saw you tried that first. LOL!
I also love when found things work perfectly for something!!
Oh yes, she is phenomenal. I was able to use her idea and her label choice, etc., but I just couldn’t get her labels document to print correctly for me. 🙂
I do not yet have these lovely markers, but they are on my wish list. I would also love your list. I appreciate your extra efforts and willingness to share.
Vicki
Oh I love the markers, but they are not for everyone. I am just getting to use them more and really love the effects but I also still use my Copics and my Distress Markers more (I think that’s just from familiarity though). I will email you the document shortly. 🙂 Hope you get your markers and can use this labels list. TF stopping by! hugs, Kristina
I have these markers, and have used them a little. I have found the same difficulties you articulated. Your chart would certainly enable me to use them more! Thank you for your generous offer to share.
I hope you get more use from these markers after you get them labeled like I have. I love them now! 🙂
