Cutsie Prim Sympathy Card | CraftyPaws

I had this adorable C. C. Designs image of two cute girls holding hands, called “Swiss Pixie Sisters,” and I wanted to color them up and make a cutsie/Primative style card with them for an ill friend of mine who is collecting hand made cards for her mom to use.  Amazingly sweet and generous right?

20160714_093055I used the following Copic colors for the girls and fussy cut them out (the trickiest parts were around the tiny curls around the brown haired girl’s hair LOL):

Skin: E51, 53, 11, 13, and R20
Black hair and boots (with white gelly roll pen highlights added to boots): C1, C4, C7, C9, B21
Blue-green skirt: BG10, 11, and 13
Light green top and skirt ruffle (with white gelly roll pen polka dots): YG01, 03, 25

Brown hair and boots (with white gelly roll pen highlights added to boots): E55, 57, 59 and Y11
Purple dress, pony tail ball ties (with white gelly roll pen highlights added to boots), and tights: V000, 12, 15, 17, 09

20160714_093214For the background, I picked out some black and white and pale green polka dot patterned papers from my scrap box and made a kind of quilt following a great MFT Sketch (link below). For the lavender pieces, I colored up white card stock with V12 and then hand cut the double fishtail banner and die cut the circles (except the smallest one which I cut using a hole punch).

To add to the Primative feel, I hand doodled dot and dash lines on the lavender pieces and I doodled double dot dashes around the edge of the card front. What fun! I used more scraps from my scrap box for the inside liner. Because I didn’t have a sympathy sentiment stamp, I hand wrote the following sentiment: “May the comfort of friends and family help bring you peace.”

The following is video sharing this and the last three cards I made:
