I have been so strapped for time with a huge work project, but I find that doing just a little crafting helps keep me sane and feeds my soul. I was especially moved by this challenge hosted by a crafty friend, Mel (YT: Mel B,s paper creations) to make cards for children in long term hospital stays so that they can give and receive Valentine cards just like they would if they were in school.
If you are interested in any of these new Diemond Dies dies (or any of the old dies), use the coupon code thankskristina for 10% off your entire purchase and free worldwide shipping for all orders of $35 or more.
I also used dies from the MFT Die-Namics “Grassy Hills” die set, the outside scalloped frame from the WPlus9 “Sunshine Layers” die set, and the “hey chickie” sentiment from the Paper Smooches “Chubby Chums” stamp set with lots of card stock and patterned paper scraps to make these cards. For finishing touches, I used Glossy Accents on all the chickies’ beaks and feet and pink Stickles on all the little hearts I punched out with an old EK Success open heart scallop circle punch.
I kept these cards CAS with fairly clear open spaces because I wanted to highlight the adorable chicks and not detract from them. I hope the kids at the hospital enjoy giving and receiving them.
The following is a tutorial video of how to make these cutsie CAS cards:
