Christmas in July Gift Tags | CraftyPaws

Picture 432I hate to let anything go to waste, esp. if it is beautifully embossed or patterned papers. I save scraps in a small scrap box and try to keep them in check by limiting myself to trying to use paper from that box before I cut into any new papers. I really am very disciplined about this. 🙂

Picture 436From my Christmas in July cards that I made last week, I had the inside die cut window pieces that I decided to make into little tags. I punched a little hole at one end, through which I looped ribbons, lace, and/or eyelash trim. Because the die cut pieces were embossed, I cut smaller pieces using the same die (Diemonddies.com’s Labels 1 Nesting Die – 4th from largest) and adhered that to the back.

ASIDE: As a Guest Design Team member for Diemonddies.com, I have a coupon code for you all! If you use the code: “thankskristina” you’ll get 10% off your entire order (even sale items) and free shipping worldwide on orders over $35.

Picture 434I just had fun then embellishing with snowflakes that I punched out using 3 Martha Stewart hand punches, little plaid fabric teddy bears, a K & Co. dove sticker, and some fun snowflake sequins from My Style Stamps.

To highlight the relief of the embossed cardstock, I just dabbed on a little white ink (Moonlight White by Brilliance made by Tsukineko) with my finger on the blue tag.  On the teddy bear tag, I did the same with green ink and then added some sparkle with my Clear Star Tsukineko Gelly Roll pen on the paper snowflakes.

The following is a video share of these tags:

These were quick and easy, and I loved that I was able to use up these scraps!
Thanks for stopping by! WOOF
