I wanted to make a little stash of cards for a crafty friend who has recently started a new job and has less time to craft than she’d like (ain’t that the truth for most of us?). She likes CAS style the best and my version of CAS is not always CAS. LOL Â Soooo, I followed a wonderful, fun tutorial by Jennifer McGuire to make these window word die cards.
The frame dies I used were the 4th and 5th smallest dies from the Diemond Dies Top Note Die set. I kept one in the square orientation and used one in the diamond orientation. I used the “hello” word die from Mama Elephant, and the “hope” word die from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Other than that, I just had fun picking and choosing some little details to finish off the cards. I rounded the corners to mimic the top note die roundness on most of the cards.  I added some faux stitching using a metallic pink Gelly Roll pen around one card. I dropped some tiny liquid pearl dots on the more muted hello cards.  I had fun “sprinkling” carefully chosen color coordinated sequins for some sparkle on all the cards.
The following is my video share of the cards:

Oh cuteness, I love when people make fun little card sets that all go together, but are all different! What a cool technique, of layering the dies. I’ve got to try that some time. Cute cards! 🙂
What a great card set! Love that you used the negative to make the most out of your die cut!
Great CAS cards…the word dies are beautiful.
Beautiful!! Love that you could make two cards with it 🙂
Great set of cards with these dies.
Cute cards! Love that you didn’t throw away the negative part of the card, but used it instead to make another card. 🙂 Thanks for playing with us at the Friday Mashup.

Super cute way to show how to use the negatives and the die cuts. I love both cards, and I never throw out the extra pieces. the sequins are a beautiful addition to the cards. TFS with the Friday Mashup this week:)
Great use of the dies on these fun cards!
