To Infinity and Beyond Butterfly ATC | CraftyPaws

A really sweet crafty friend, Candy (YT: Candy Tigs) is celebrating her 1 year YouTube Anniversary and I just wanted to cheer her on. She requested that folks make non-standard sized Artist Trading Cards (ATC’s are normally 2.5″ x 3.5″) so I did a 3″ x 4″ card and had some fun with some supplies that I don’t use very often.

I pulled out all of my Martha Stewart butterfly punches: the Layering Garden Butterfly, the Large Monarch Butterfly, and the Medium Monarch Butterfly (this actually looks small to me but they call it medium–LOL). I punched out the top layers in black card stock, and then either punched out or fussy cut out the bottom layer from the same beautiful glittered rose patterned paper, with soft pinks, greens and tans, that I used for the base.

I sewed on some flight path stitch lines with my sewing machine (which I’ve also been trying to use more), but the cream thread faded into the background. To remedy this and bring in some darker colors (besides the butterfly top layers) I used my black soot and tumbled glass Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color each stitch.

Lastly I used some simple $1.50 wood mounted alphas to stamp out the cheer from “Toy Story”: “To [Infinity] and Beyond!” Ā I have had these little Michaels stamps in my stash for a long time and this was the first time I used them. Ā I must admit it took a little practice, but I do like the clean and simple font. šŸ™‚

The following is a video share of this ATC:

This ATC is being entered into the following challenges:
