Bokeh Cards With Twists – Diemond Dies DTP

Bokeh is a Japanese word meaning blurry, and it is the look that is created in some photography that has a blurry city lights look in the background. In paper crafting this look can be achieved by stamping or inking.

I created these 4 cards by laying down some Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, and Spiced Marmalade) on a very wet watercolor paper. Then I used Color Box’s Donna Salazar Designs Mix’d Media Inx in Jasmin (white) with some DIY stencils that I made with Diemond Dies Heart Nesting Die Set and Diemond Dies Die-Normous Stack-Ems Circle Nesting Die Set.

Usually bokeh effects are created with circles, but I thought making it with hearts would be a fun twist. I also tried using some Liquitex modeling paste to add some texture twist. For added sparkle and shimmer I used some sequins and bling pieces as well as some Wink of Stella.

The “celebrate!” sentiment is from the TPC Studio “Cupcake” stamp set, and the “Have a ‘Bubble’licious Day” sentiment is from the Stamps of Life Bubblegum4you stamp set.
