Cute Front and Back Bookmarks for Kids | CraftyPaws

I made two more kids’ bookmarks with another super cute mini front and back stamp set by Art Impressions (check out the watercolor stamped critter ones I did in the prior post HERE). This time I used the Boy & Girl Mini Set. Because I wanted to make sure I could keep the look of more detailed hair and facial features (and my watercoloring is not that good–LOL), I decided to color up these cuties with Copic markers.

I used the following colors:
Boy: Jeans: B93, 95 and 99; Hair and shoes: B01, C6 and C8; Skin: E50, 51, 53 and R20 for blush; Shirt: G40, G43 and YG25
Girl: Top and shoes: RV02, V04 and RV04; Skin: E50, 51, 53 and R20 for blush; Hair: E55, 57 and 59

I also picked out a couple of general reading quotes that I thought could be encouraging to the third graders these will be little prizes for and printed them out on my computer:
Boy: “I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book.” — J.K. Rowling
Girl: “A child who carries a book with a bookmark in it is in two places at the same time.” — Tony Abbot

For the bookmark bases, I used some wood plank patterned paper that had a shiny coating on it from my scrap box and adhered two pieces back sides together to create a sturdy base. Then I fussy cut the front and back colored images and glued them on top as if the kiddies were leaning up on a tall wooden fence. On the back sides, I used up more scrap patterned paper in my scrap box that coordinated with the colors I used on the boy and girl and matted the printed sentiments. I positioned these matted sentiments under the kiddies’ feet so that it would look like they were standing on top of them to peer over the fence.
