In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I created this CAS card using one of the newest dies from Diemond Dies. This action packed karate kicking character die seemed to fit perfectly with the Tim Holtz Shatter stencil that I used yesterday.

This time I blended on Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar (from darkest in the center) just in the upper right of the card front. Then I die cut the karate kicking character from the Diemond Dies Karate Die Set #1 three times so that I could glue them stacked together for a little dimension. I positioned the character so that the kicking foot landed squarely in the center of the stenciled shatter area.

I thought about adding a sentiment on a small banner for the karate character to stand on, but I really liked the super clean look of just the black image with the pop of bright pink shattered graphic. Even though I wavered and almost added some clear sequins, I fought the urge. I really wanted to keep the focal point absolutely pristine and thought “extras” might detract from the strength and power that I hoped this card would convey.

So instead, on the inside of the card, I printed out the sentiment, “Kick Cancer to the Curb” from my computer onto pale pink paper. Then to add a little bit of embellishment on the inside, I die cut out two of each of the Small Diemond Dies Awareness Ribbons Die Set from pink card stock. I glued them stacked together (again for a little dimension) and then blended on Picked Raspberry, darker at the top and lighter toward the bottoms of the ribbons to create an ombre look to match the ombre look of the shattered graphic on the front of the card.

My readers can get 10% off and free worldwide shipping on all orders of $35 or more at Diemond Dies by using the coupon code: thankskristina at check out.

This card is being entered into the following challenges:
