I was waiting to use this funny punny card for a special occasion. When I heard my crafty friend, Carol (YT: Crafty Carolina Gal) was celebrating the end of her chemo treatments, I thought this would be perfect. I am so happy for her and I wanted to wish her the best. 🙂

I made the fishes using the Diemond Dies Little Fishy Die with yellow card stock, inking up the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade and drawing on smiling faces (like the goldfish crackers I love). To give them shine I coated them with Glossy Accents.

I made the “seaweed” with bits of metal wire and strung on seed beads in white and aqua, coiling the ends to keep all the beads in place. Then I “planted” them in a bed of green glass vase filler bits that I glued down with E6000. The background I made with bits of scraps from my scrap box that I inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Salty Ocean and the Diemond Dies Labels 1 Nesting Die Set.

My readers can get 10% off and free worldwide shipping on all orders of $35 or more at Diemond Dies by using the coupon code “thankskristina” at check out.

For the finishing touches, I used swirly flat back pearl and gem stickers and aqua rhinestone gem stickers from my stash to add a little sparkle and allude to the swirls and bubbles that might be found in an ocean filled with fish. I find that I am always adding little bits like these to my cards, whether with sequins, enamel dots, or gem stickers. The sentiment is one I printed on my computer and hand cut into a banner with fishtail ends and folded up to add a little dimension.

The following is a quick video share of the card:
