A lovely crafty friend, Beth (YT: Bethsscrapbookroom) hosts monthly challenges for different worthy and wonderful causes. I generally don’t make mass\u00a0cards, so this month I decided to do an “extra” card with each project I do for the\u00a0children at St. Jude’s Hospital\u00a0(Beth’s\u00a0January\u00a0challenge). I know crafty folks are generally inclined to make very flowery and pretty things, which are more suitable for girls, so I decided to try to make some boyish cards.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Based on the love-themed index cards I made for my friend Pam yesterday, I decided to make three\u00a0cards using my latest free digis, “Believe”<\/a><\/span><\/span> and “Love you TONS!”<\/a><\/span><\/span> as well as the super adorable pup from the Tiddly Ink’s “I Wuf You”<\/span><\/span><\/a> stamp set.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The first is a CAS card where I used three\u00a0black hearts from my NEW\u00a0La-La-Land Crafts Heart Die<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>(I had used the outside heart frames on another project and these insides were left over). I colored up the super cute Tiddly Ink’s pup with Copic colors: E23, E25, W1, and R39. \u00a0I glued the pup onto two of the hearts and then popped all three of the hearts up on foam adhesive to add a little dimension. I added some black and white baker’s twine, which I looped around the front panel three times and then secured into a bow. I stamped a little sentiment from the NEW-to-me Paper Smooches Woofers and Tweeters<\/a><\/span><\/span>\u00a0stamp set that says “I Dig You,” which I embossed\u00a0using snow colored Recollections embossing powder. Lastly I rounded two of the side corners, which I thought reflected and went well with\u00a0the roundness of the hearts.<\/p>\n

The other two cards are relatively simple. I printed out my colored digis and used up scrap patterned papers from my scrap box that I thought complemented the color scheme of my papers and envelopes. I added a double loop twine bow to the elephant card and I added a stitched teal bow to the flying pig card just to add some interest. \u00a0On all three cards I added Glossy Accents to all of the small hearts to add a little shine; you can’t use glitter on cards for the St. Jude’s kids because the glitter can get loose and cause respiratory complications.<\/p>\n

I hope the children will enjoy using these cards and that these cards will brighten the days of some of their family members and\/or care givers. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
