There is a wonderful crafter, Beth (YT: Bethsscrapbookroom), who regularly hosts challenges for worthy causes. And especially during this season that should be dedicated to thankfulness, sharing, and generosity of spirit, I knew I wanted to participate in her latest cause–making birthday cards for kids staying at homeless shelters.<\/p>\n

<\/a>I made a handful of cards using some fun card bases and patterned papers in bright, bold colors. I had picked up a package of super cute dimensional robot stickers at the Dollar Tree and these were going to be perfect focal points for these cards.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Now all I had to do was find a free robot font (there are so many, just google free robot fonts) and think of some robot-y sayings to print out on my Canon PIXMA MX922 Wireless Color Photo Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax<\/a>\u00a0(CHRISTMAS GIFT SUGGESTION!: I’ve had 2 earlier versions of this printer and LOVE it! \u00a0I use this for creating my digis; scanning function is perfection. \u00a0The photos print out crisp and clear, and, best of all, the ink colors are sold separately so you never waste any ink! \u00a0Bonus, you can buy off-brand refill inks really inexpensively HERE<\/a>; this place was the cheapest the last time I looked, but feel free to look other places too, as prices change online often.)<\/p>\n

Next I thought I would make a couple of CAS cards using the awesome “Handwritten Borders” stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and the “Party Animal”\u00a0dog balloon stamp from Avery Elle. In the following video, I share all the cards as well as a process tutorial for this last card. Even though this is a very simple looking card, there is fun stuff going on with Momento Luxe Love Letter red ink embossing, fussy cutting, and shiny dot sequins. \u00a0Hopefully whatever homeless child receives it will know that as they get one year older, someone is thinking of them. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
