Oh yes, I’ve been having fun playing with what I think is a super versatile die set — Diemond Dies Teddy Bear Buildable Die Set. Obviously from the name, you can tell this die set was designed to make a teddy bear. But after looking at it for a while I thought it would be easy and quite cute to turn a bear into a dog! I recently picked up from Peachy Keen Stamps the adorable “Happy-Go-Lucky Dog Face Assortment” of dog face stamps and the largest one (1 3/8″) seemed to be the perfect size.

""I die cut all the pieces from the Diemond Dies Teddy Bear Buildable Die Set except the muzzle, inner ear, nose and eye pieces. Rather than those pieces, I stamped out the Peachy Keen Stamp puppy face on both the kraft die cut head as well as on a scrap of white card stock. From the white card stock image, I fussy cut out the eyes and the bone with the teeth and glued them into place on the kraft face. That along with some white highlighting details on the nose and paw pads with a Uniball Signo White Gel Pen brought the puppy to life. For a little added detail, I used a pink Prismacolor Colored Pencil to add rosy cheeks and a Copic W1 shading to the bone and behind the teeth. Before assembling all the pieces, I inked the kraft card stock pieces with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and the white belly piece with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

Then for the card base and front, I rummaged through my paper scrap box and found some fun birthday patterned paper (sorry I have no idea where it’s from, it’s THAT old). I also used up some pale green card stock scraps, an MFT Die-Namics Grassy Hills Die and some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Mowed Lawn to create some fun side borders. For the sentiment, I used a cut apart from the Doodlebug Puppy Love 6 x 6 Paper Pad that seemed the match the background paper colors perfectly! Popping up the pup, his sign and the background patterned paper on double sided foam tape added some nice interest as well.

""For the inside of the card, I used another patterned paper from my scrap box that seemed to have a festive streamer look and added a grassy base to match the grassy borders on the card front, but I only glued the bottom and side edges so that a gift card could be tucked into the formed pocket! (clever, eh!). Again the sentiment is from the small banner sentiment is from the Doodlebug Puppy Love 6 x 6 Paper Pad.
