Yes, it’s already the second week of October! Eek! I have yet to make any Halloween cards, so I thought I better get going.

To make this quick Boo to You card, I finally broke into my Tim Holtz Alterations Gothic Boo Die that I had picked up on clearance at Tuesday Morning a couple of years ago. I was so excited about this great deal when I got it, but this was the first time I’ve used it! I die cut both the Boo and the 31 from a piece of black (with tiny red and black embedded sparkles) DCWV Glitter Cardstock Classics. This glittery card stock has a clear coating so no glitter rubs off and it also provides a great high finish shine to the die cut pieces. To give a cohesive look, I also cut a piece of this glitter cardstock to be the card front mat of the background patterned paper.

I used an old Halloween paper scrap from another oldie but goodie (from 2013): American Crafts Night Fall 12 x 12 paper stack for the background. I had just enough to fit the card front and adjust the positioning so that one of the spiders could look like it was hanging from the top of the B. 🙂

Lastly, for the focal image, I doodled a simple sugar skull costume onto the adorable little Chihuahua from the My Favorite Things Lucky Dog stamp set. Using a Copic multi-liner pen in 0.03 pt ensured that there would be no bleeding when I chose to brightly color up this cutie with the following Copic colors:

Dog: W1, W3, W5 and R30 For the inside of the card, I used another polka dot glittered paper scrap from the Night Fall stack and then a piece of white cardstock die cut with a MFT Cross-Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics die as the liner paper. For a little accent, I took a scrap from the card front background paper and fussy cut a bit of a web and spider. I also added three black bats that I die cut from black card stock using the Diemond Dies Bats Die Set. I am trying to make a concerted effort to decorate the insides of my cards, and I really like how this one came out cute but spooky.
